What’s been happening at Parkland Engineering?
Established in 1978, Parkland Engineering has come a long way over years surviving as one of the few rubber hose manufacturers in the UK.
Over the past four years they have experienced significant growth and becoming a major distributor of hose, couplings and fittings throughout the UK and Europe penetrating export markets such as the Far East and South America.
The expansion through the acquisition of Border Hydraulics in 2013 established them within the North-west, complementing the already well-established branches in Scotland and the Northeast.
The Kiowa Group
Now part of the Kiowa Group, Parkland Engineering has the backing of a long established industrial hose, hose assembly and fluid power supplier; complementing Parkland’s core competencies whilst broadening its product portfolio, capabilities within the industry, increasing stocking levels and improving systems.
Combined with an extensive knowledge and experience of industrial fluid power products, it also has a national support network of six fully equipped branches stretching from Aberdeen to Lincolnshire; ensuring localised delivery and reduced lead times to customers through next day timed deliveries.
Kiowa ltd started out as a supplier of industrial hose to local customers in 1992, based in Lincolnshire. Today the Kiowa Group is a national company that has the capacity and capability to service large organisations whilst maintaining a personal edge; supplying industrial hose, hose assemblies and fluid power products to a diverse range of industries across the globe.
Parkland’s current product range will continue to be available as before and key contacts will remain in place. However, customers will gain the support of a wider network of experienced personnel to call upon for guidance in their local area.
Six fully equipped branches
The six localised branches will enable supply from stock a range of industrial, hydraulic, metallic, PtFE and silicone hose assemblies, couplings, reels and industrial components and equipment.
Each branch is interlinked via a sophisticated computer system through which you can ensure products are delivered when you need them and even through next day timed deliveries when required. Parkland intends to lead the way in product innovation as well, with products such as the high-pressure first aid reeling hose which is unique to Parkland and has design-registered highly visible fluorescent arrows pointing the way to safety.
This is in conjunction with the Macdonald style coupling with a patented locking nut which prevents the connection being broken when the hose is dragged.
Other products ranges include layflat fire hose, suction hoses and strainers, Reelcraft hose
reels and couplings including the unique stainless steel high pressure fitting of Parkland design which is fully interchangeable.
Dantec’s Exclusive UK Distributor
The Parkland manufactured hose range is reinforced by a variety of items bought only from internationally renowned manufacturers such as Dantec for whom Parkland are the UK’s largest distributor of its composite hose range and Merlett for PVC hose.
Parkland has seen the biggest growth in the oil, gas and petro-chemical sectors advising many of the UK’s leading sites.
Close co-operation between Dantec, the UK’s largest composite hose manufacturer and Parkland has enabled a significant increase in market share driven by quality of Dantec’s products in alliance with the support from Parklands on-site service and testing division.
Parkland Engineering is also a preferred supplier to many of the UK’s fire and rescue services with hose, couplings, fittings and equipment from leading brands such as Elkhart brass and more recently Scorpe technologies who are part of the French groups Soffrad and Gimaex, who alone have over 40 years international fire and rescue experience.
Parkland’s experience and knowledge within this industry puts them at the forefront when brigades require a reliable supplier.
Part of the services customers can expect from Parkland and the Kiowa Group is full hose management, including onsite testing, which is carried out by probably the most experienced test team in the UK. They have detailed knowledge of the majority of the UK’s fire brigades, chemical, oil and petroleum distribution facilities making their teams indispensable.
The team also hold “passport to safety” clearance which allows them to work unsupervised on site enabling site staff to continue with their daily work. As well as the testing they also offer a comprehensive computerised hose database generated for full hose traceability.
Parkland is an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 approved supplier, we are also a registered member of NEPIC, Nahad and Achilles approved.
